Impacts of Indoor and Outdoor Air Pollution on Community Health in Punjab
Anshika Kansal (Assistant Manager from Lung Care Foundation)
This project investigates the impacts of indoor and outdoor air pollution on community health in the Jalandhar and Phagwara blocks of Punjab. By combining quantitative surveys of 600 households with qualitative methods such as focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, and physical observations of household environments, the study aims to: Assess the levels and sources of indoor and outdoor air pollution in the target areas. Examine the relationship between air pollution exposure and respiratory health outcomes. Identify household practices like ventilation and cooking methods that influence exposure levels. Develop actionable strategies to reduce air pollution exposure and promote healthier environments.
The findings will provide valuable insights to inform evidence-based interventions, contributing to better air quality and improved regional public health outcomes.
