Enhancing Access to Justice for Marginalized Communities in India

Morsel is proudly collaborating with Voluntas and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India on a significant project aimed at improving access to justice for marginalized communities across the country. This initiative is focused on identifying and addressing the barriers that communities such as Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, De-notified Tribes, and religious minorities face in accessing the justice system. These communities often encounter multiple challenges, including systemic discrimination and limited resources, which hinder their ability to navigate legal processes effectively.

As part of the project, Morsel is conducting extensive surveys and facilitating group discussions with members from these communities, including survivors of gender-based violence, people with disabilities, migrant workers, and those impacted by environmental injustices. By engaging with these individuals, Morsel is collecting valuable insights into their unique challenges and the obstacles they face when seeking justice.

The information gathered will be instrumental in developing a strategic roadmap for UNDP’s initiatives aimed at enhancing legal aid, improving access to environmental justice, and strengthening the capacity of justice institutions to deliver services that are fair, accessible, and timely. Through this research, Morsel aims to contribute to creating a more inclusive justice system that ensures marginalized communities have the support and resources they need to exercise their rights.

This project highlights Morsel’s commitment to promoting social justice and supporting initiatives that aim to create a more equitable legal landscape for all.
